Sangaku - Japanese Temple Mathematics

Abstract
During the Edo period (1600-1868AD), wooden tablets depicting
geometrical problems began to appear in Shinto shrines and Buddhist
temples throughout Japan. In this talk, I will briefly introduce this
tradition and discuss its features and evolution.
